Bloom is a chillable red made with a different blend of grapes each year all farmed Regeneratively by Darek Trowbridge without irrigation (dry farmed). This year it is made from 67% Pinot noir, 23% Abouriou, 10% Pinotage. The Pinot Noir is planted to sandy Goldridge silt loam soils at the Choate Vineyard near the Sonoma Coast in Graton; the Abouriou is a Basque varietal that was planted on shale soils in an isolated upland mountainous valley by Darek’s great grandfather; the Pinotage is planted to clay loam soils near the banks of McNab Creek at the Gearhart Vineyard in remote Mendocino.

These grapes were stomped with 100% whole clusters and allowed to soak for 5 days of maceration on both skins and stems. Wild Fermentation occurs naturally. Then 9 months in neutral barrels, sur lie the entire time - never racked, then bottled unfined/unfiltered.
