Laura Brennan Bissel did not go to school for winemaking. In 2011 she moved back to California and with a few resumé embellishments landed a winemaking internship in Dry Creek Valley. She made her first vintage the following year – a learner by doing (and making her own mistakes). In 2013, hoping to learn more about viticulture she interned with Matthiasson which turned out to be an invaluable experience.
