History : The château Franc-Pourret is owned by the Ouzoulias family. The family property of 12 hectares in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is managed by Francois Ouzoulias. The planted grape varieties is of 60% merlot and 40% cabernet franc. In 1989, the Château Franc-Pourret became one of Saint-Émilion first vineyard certified as organic agriculture. For over 25 years our vines have been eco-friendly, respectul of the environment and the consumer. Vineyard: 12 ha Type of soil: limestone plateau and calcareous-clay slopes; sandy and silt; deep sand Planted grape varieties: merlot 60% ; cabernet franc 40 % Landscape: plateau and slopes Working of the soil: ploughing and partial grassing with work « sous les pieds » Average age of the vines: more than 50 years Organic chart: ECOCERT certification Vinification 18 months long maturing, one part of this period in French oak barrels.
Château Franc-Pourret tastes perfectly with red meats, game and farmhouse cheeses. We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of 18 ° and to decant 2-3 hours before serving.
