Three generations, three siblings, three spirits united: We, Ewald, Maria and Christian, have found common ground in the family-run business in the western part of the Weinviertel region: wine. Röschitz is located in the northern

Röschitz is located in the Western part of the Weinviertel region, in the foothills of the Manhartsberg mountain ridge in Lower Austria – perfect conditions for growing wine. It may even be the best place for growing wine in the entire region.

This is due to something very special about the geology: The Weinviertel region is mainly home to gravel, sand and loess. However, in Röschitz and its surroundings, hardly any sandy soils can be found – instead, there is arid soil over bedrock, with granite and partly covered with loess. This is far from ideal for farming, but it proves to be an advantage for growing wine.

The crystalline bedrock in combination with a rather cool climate makes it possible to produce a particularly elegant wine with a delicious minerality.

The vineyards are located between 250 and 360 meters above sea level. And even at the height of summer, the nights are rather cool. These changes in temperature create fruity and complex tastes – the acid typical for this region is also preserved in high gradation. What’s more: There is hardly any rain (490 mm of precipitation per year). The dry climate and the bedrock force the roots of the grapes to grow down deep into the soil. This leads to particularly delicate wines.
