Domaine Batard Langelier

Domaine Batard Langelier

Located 30 minutes southeast of Nantes, this family estate, extends over 24 gently sloping hectares. 95% of the vineyard is dedicated to Melon de Bourgogne with a few rows of Merlot and Cabernet Franc to bring a touch of red to the production.

The family domaine is located in Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine appellation, and was established in 1910. It now spans 24 hectares and 95% of its production is Melon de Bourgogne, the only grape variety in Muscadet.

Jérémie Batard is the son of a winemaker, his father’s expertise was his heritage. But it wasn’t written in the stars. In his younger days, Jérémie dreamt of faraway places, a distant land where everything would be better. He loved wine, but working the land seemed too difficult, too dull. So he packed his bags and travelled far beyond his family vineyards, moving further and further away to discover France, then Europe. His journeys took him as far as Australia, and his love of wine always went with him.
