Château Ferran

Château Ferran

Château FERRAN is located in Saint Pierre de Bat in the Haut-Benauge region in the south-west of Entre deux Mers.
Our 35 hectares of vines are surrounded by wood and give this ecological assembly of cult

The history of Château Ferran dates back to the 18th century when it was owned by Montesquieu (a notable French political philosipher) before being bought by an old Bordeaux family; the descendants of Joseph Beraud-Sudreau. It was purchased in 1999 by Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste.

To this day, Château Ferran is organic and biodynamic certified and champions biodiversity on their estate. The Château Ferran vineyard stretches over 18 hectares of vines planted on slightly gravelly Miocene limestone-clay ridges. The grape varieties are 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. All vineyard and winery work is completed by hand (pruning, thinning, harvesting, sorting, etc). Thus, the best batches are selected each vintage for assembly. Vinification is done in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged in barrels, 35% of which are made from new wood. Château Ferran is the wedding of an exceptional vineyard and a family of enthusiasts.
