Upon her return to the estate, Claire quickly set to work shaping the Domaine to reflect her own vine growing philosophies (Organic agriculture). Though her methods are deeply rooted in Burgundian traditions, it’s Claire’s prerogative to constantly question appellation standards and even her own farming and winemaking practices to ensure that her wines reflect the terroirs of the prestigious (Aloxe, Laoix, Nuit St Georges, etc) and lesser-known areas from which they come from. Today the Domaine’s production has reached 130-150 000 bottles per year.

An interesting fact that Claire shared with us, is that she is equally concerned with the sustainability of the business of the Domaine itself, as she is with the growing of the vines and making of the wine. Claire is passionate about succession planning, ensuring that there is a stable and dynamic team in place to assume the work if Claire is unable to or if she retires. She also has built the rental costs of the plots the Domaine doesn’t own as well as small percentages to deal with routine expenditures and upgrades around the winery. This ensures a fair price for all (including those who work at the Domaine).
